Hasan Kwame Jeffries is an American podcaster, history professor, and author at the Ohio State University. Currently, he serves as the host of a podcast called “Teaching Hard History” for the Southern Poverty Law Center’s educational division, Teaching Tolerance. After earning his Ph.D. 2002, Hasan taught for a year at the University of Alabama based in Tuscaloosa.

He later joined Ohio State’s faculty in 2003. From 2010 to 2014, Hasan served as the lead historian as well as a primary scriptwriter for the $27 million renovations of the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel based in Memphis, Tennessee. That is where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Hasan worked on the PBS documentary titled Black America Since MLK.
