Keith Colburn is an American reality tv personality, fisherman, and ship captain. He is best known for appearing in the captivating reality series, called Deadliest Catch. Keith captains the crab fishing vessel called Wizard, which he bought in 2005. Prior to that, he owned a vessel called Sirene which he had bought in 2002 but sold in 2004. Keith decided to sell sirene after the government decided to implement a fleet reduction program for crabber vessels.
As a skilled captain aboard the crabbing fishing vessel, Wizard, Keith is cast in the reality series Deadliest Catch. The Placerville, California, native is a first-generation crab fisherman who moved from Lake Tahoe in 1985 at the age of 22 to Alaska where he began his fishing career. In 1988, Keith’s relationship with the crabber vessel, Wizard, was cemented after the fisherman became a full-share deckhand.
Meaning that Keith would get his rightful share of the profits from each crabbing season. In no time, Keith advanced quickly in his career earning his U.S. Coast Guard license in 1992. The license earned him a promotion from the deck to the pilothouse. Later on, Keith was cast as the captain of the biggest ship in the crabbing fleet on the show Deadliest Catch.
