He is best known for participating with his family on the TLC reality television program, Little People, Big World. The show was based on the Roloffs’ daily life. Roloff and his ex-wife Amy have dwarfism and so is one of their four children, Zachary.

He was born and raised in San Francisco, California by his parents Ron and Peggy Roloff. Roloff was born with diastrophic dysplasia, degenerative dwarfism that caused him to have fifteen operations as a child. Both his parents are of average height and so is his sister Ruth.

However, his younger brother Sam has diastrophic dysplasia and uses crutches to walk as well. Sam works as an artist and founder of Back-Story Underpainting. Sadly, Roloff’s middle brother Joshua was born with a severe heart malformation and died in 1999 at age 34. Both Roloff’s parents are often featured on Little People, Big World.

The Farm is open to the public during certain seasons of the year, such as pumpkin season. It receives approximately 30,000 visitors annually. The Roloffs expanded with the purchase of the 80-acre property next to the farm in 2010.
