Marcus Lamb was an American Christian broadcaster, minister, prosperity theology, and televangelist who died on November 30, 2021 at the age of 64 years. He was the co-founder, president, and CEO of the second-largest Christian television network in the world called Daystar Television Network. The network is estimated to have a value of $230 million. Marcus founded The Word of God Fellowship in 1980, the same year that he met his wife Joni.
The company eventually gave birth to the Daystar Television Network. In 1984, Marcus moved to Montgomery, Alabama to launch WMCF-TV. WMCF-TV became the first full-power Christian station in the state. In 1990, Marcus sold the station to Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and moved to Dallas, Texas where he launched the Daystar network in late 1997.

Later, Marcus and his wife decided to publicly disclose the infidelity. They reach the decision shortly after the couple claimed that three women asked for the US $7.5 million in exchange for silence on the matter.
Marcus shared their story publicly on tv and refused to pay anything to those women. However, no criminal charges were filed but civil suits and countersuits were filed over the matter between Daystar and the three former employees. All three employee claims had either been dropped or dismissed by December 2011. Subsequently, Daystar dismissed its countersuits against each of the women.

This was after the television show called Inside Edition investigated the church’s private jet purchase. in order to be able to pay employees’ salaries, Daystar TV applied for the government’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and were granted $3.9 million. The church purchased a 1997 Gulfstream aircraft soon after receiving the funds.

On Tuesday November 30, 2021, Marcus passed away at the age of 64 years. He died in Bedford, TX following complications with Covid-19. Marcus was diabetic. He had previously said he had taken an antiparasitic medication, Ivermectin, that was not proven to protect against the Corona virus. The use of Ivermectin was not recommended by medical authorities. However, it is not known whether Marcus was vaccinated prior to his death. His funeral was hosted by Robert Morris of Gateway Church in Dallas, Texas on Monday December 6, 2021.
