Paul O’Neill is a former American baseball right fielder who played 17 seasons in the MLB at the Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees. He won five times World Series champion and five times All-Star Championship. Upon retiring he joined YES Network as a lead game analyst and color commentator for the Yankees. In addition, Paul was inducted into the Irish American Baseball Hall of Fame on July 7, 2009.

Paul joined Cincinnati Reds in September 1985 and played in five games with four hits and one RBI. Moreover, in his first full season, he played 117 games in 1989 batting .276 with 15 home runs and 74 RBI and 145 games, batting .252 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI in 1988. During the 1990 game played in 145 games batting .270 with 16 home runs and 78 RBI winning the World Series over the Oakland Athletics.

He wore Jersey number 21 and since his retirement it was once worn by relief pitcher LaTroy Hawkins at the start of the 2008 season.
On August 9, 2014, the Yankees honored him with a plaque in Monument Park. Apart from playing he was featured in a cameo role on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld “The Wink episode as well as mentioned in the Friends episode “The One with Rachel’s Big Kiss”.
