The plane piloted by an all-African American crew took things such as computers, clothes, school supplies, and other basic necessities to children who lived in the country. During their return, Stephanie assisted in helping a man his sick wife, and children from Senegal to Memphis so she could receive medical treatment.
Stephanie was the only Memphis reporter to report the case of the West Memphis 3 from the time of their arrests and convictions in 1994 until their release in 2012. Apart from receiving a Regional Emmy Award Stephanie’s work has also been recognized by the Tennesse Associated Press.
She was also awarded her Best Enterprise Award for her exclusive story about the difficulties of a man fighting off a drug addiction. Earlier on, before she joined the journalism industry, Stephanie worked as an adjunct professor in the Department of Journalism at the University of Memphis.
