Rep Adam Smith is an American politician and a retired attorney currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 9th congressional district. Smith is a member of the Democratic Party, who served in the Washington State Senate from 1991 to 1997
Adam was elected to the State Senate at the age of 25 years, making him the youngest State Senator in the country. In 1996, he won his first congressional race and has been reelected 11 times since then. In 2019, he was elected as the chair of the House Armed Services Committee.
Recently in January 2021, Representative Smith voted to pass the impeachment of former president Donald Trump charging him with incitement of capital insurrection.
