Jeffrey Garten is a renowned American economist, author, businessman, and former government official. He is Dean Emeritus at the Yale School of Management and teaches on the global economy. He was also the dean of the school from 1996 to 2005 and the Juan Trippe Professor in international trade, finance, and business from 2005 to 2015. From 1993 to 1995, Garten was Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade in the Clinton administration.
Additionally, he has authored six books. Garten wrote numerous articles in The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The New York Times, Newsweek, Foreign Affairs, and Harvard Business Review. He wrote a monthly column in Business Week from 1997 to 2005.
