Brad Gerstnerll (Full Name: Bradley Thomas Gerstner ) is a popular American investor and hedge fund manager who is the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Altimeter Capital an investment firm based in Boston, Massachusetts, and Menlo Park, California which specializes in technology investments in both public and private markets worldwide. The firm was founded in 2008. He appeared on the 2022 Forbes Midas List following his firm’s successful investments in Snowflake and Grab.

A month following the launch of Altimeter Capital, an office was opened in Menlo Park, California. In 2013, the firm closed its first venture capital fund at $75 million. Previously, Brad co-founded Openlist.com, a local search start-up that was self-funded and marketed to Marchex (Nasdaq: MCHX). He worked as a partner at PAR Capital, a multi-billion hedge fund in Boston prior to launching his own fund – Altimeter Capital – on November 1, 2008.

Following graduation, Brad practiced securities law as a lawyer at Ice Miller LLP and worked for a term as Deputy Secretary of State of Indiana. Following earning a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School, Brad worked as a founding principal of General Catalyst, served at several travel website startups, and later worked as a Portfolio Manager for PAR Capital from 2005 until 2008.
