Wood Harris (Real Name: Sherwin David “Wood” Harris) is a popular American actor who has played the drug kingpin Avon Barksdale on the HBO crime drama The Wire. He also played cocaine dealer Ace in Paid in Full and Julius Campbell a high school football player in the 2000 movie Remember the Titans.
Wood is also known for portraying Brooke Payne on the BET miniseries The New Edition Story in 2017. From 2016 through 2017, Wood portrayed Barry Fouray on VH1 miniseries The Breaks. Most recently, Wood played Damon Cross on the Fox series Empire for its fifth and last sixth season. Currently, he is appearing as drug lord “Pat” in the Starz series BMF with Demetrius Flenory Jr. and his older brother, Steve Harris.
