Tony Shalhoub (Full name: Anthony Marc Shalhoub ), is an American actor. His accolades include six Screen Actors Guild Awards, five Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award, and a Grammy Award nomination. Tony played Adrian Monk in the USA Network television series Monk. He appeared as Antonio Scarpacci in the NBC sitcom Wings and Abe Weissman on Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
The actor has had a successful film career, with roles in films such as Quick Change in 1990, Barton Fink (1991), Big Night in 1996, Men in Black in 1997, Gattaca in 1997, Paulie in 1998, The Siege in 1998, Galaxy Quest in 1999, Spy Kids in 2001, Thirteen Ghosts in 2001, The Man Who Wasn’t There in 2001, and 1408 in 2007.

He was born and raised by his parents in a Lebanese Maronite household in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is the 9th of 10 children of Joseph (1912–1991) and Helen (née Seroogy) (1910-1983). His dad was from Mount Lebanon and immigrated to the United States, after his own parents, Milhelm and Mariam were murdered during the 1915 Assyrian Genocide based on orders by the Three Pashas ruling the Ottoman Empire.
Joseph became a meat peddler after immigrating to America where he drove a refrigerated truck. Tony’s mother was a Lebanese-American. She met Joseph while still a child when the latter was taken in to be raised by her family.
