They moved to Canada in 1965 where his father is from Bombay, Maharashtra, Western India, and his mother is from Calcutta, West Bengal, East India. Russell was raised Catholic. When he was four, he and his family moved to Brampton. His older brother, Clayton, serves as his manager.
