Todd continued to further his education in meteorology at Mississippi State University and was later certified as a broadcast meteorologist by the Department of Geoscience and Meteorology. He then took his first tv job in Missoula, Montana where he worked as the morning meteorologist.
Todd was later promoted to become the channel’s chief meteorologist. His most memorable moment was his first winter up north, where 111 inches of snow fell and he learned how to snow ski and fly fish. Before joining KATV, Todd worked in Chattanooga, TN. While there, he took part in the team of meteorologists that won the Tennessee Associated Press award for best weathercast. He also covered the Veterans Day outbreak of tornadoes as well as the extensive flooding that was caused by Hurricane Ivan.
