Prior to that, Steve worked at KAAL-TV in Austin, based in Minnesota, serving as a weather broadcaster, reporter, weekend news anchor, and photographer. Later on, Steve transitioned to being a news editor and producer. As a news editor and producer later gave him a new job at WJTV  in Jackson, located in Mississippi where he became the main weather anchor.
