Stephen Nolan ( Full name: Stephen Raymond Nolan) is a Northern Irish radio and television presenter. He currently works for  BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Radio 5 Live. Stephen is the BBC’s highest earning talent they employ in the Province. In total,  the journalist has won twelve Sony Radio Academy Awards. Of these, 7 are Gold, giving Stephen the record for the most Golds in the history of the awards.

5 of these Awards, including UK Speech Broadcaster of the Year 2003 and for his show, The Stephen Nolan Show, and The Speech Programme Award of the Year 2006 were awarded during his time with Belfast CityBeat radio. In 2005 and 2006, Stephen won the Royal Television Society’s Regional Presenter of the Year Award. He was also nominated for the National Presenter Award in 2008.

The BBC’s brightest new star revealed that he is happier snuggling up on his mother Audrey’s settee in her modest semi in East Belfast. “My dad died in August 2003 leaving me and my mother in shock and we’re still grieving today and missing him terribly,” said Stephen.

The two things I would consider successful would be to have a normal weight and children. I don’t have either” He added.

As he ages, Stephen revealed he is more and more worried about his health. Several years ago, he managed to reduce his weight from 21 stone to 14. However, as of 2021, he has since put most of it back on. Stephen said about his weight “I’m a complete failure with my health. Weight has defeated me and continues to defeat me.” He added that no matter how hard he drives himself in another thing, he is a total and absolute failure with his weight. It gets him down, it worries him, Now he is getting older, it worries him even more. Stephen says that he cannot beat it.
