Sarah Koenig is the daughter of Julian Koenig and his second wife, Maria Eckhart born in New York, in the United States. Her father Julian worked as a copywriter and her mom was a Tanzanian citizen. Her parents divorced and her mother remarried to writer Peter Matthiessen. Sarah’s siblings are John Koenig, Pim Koenig, and Antonia Koenig.
