Also, Sally was a relief presenter on the BBC News Channel.  She started co-presenting BBC Breakfast on a freelance basis in November 2011, filling in when regular hosts were unavailable. From April 2012, Sally presented sports bulletins on Breakfast alongside Mike Bushell after the program was moved to its new location at Media City in Salford.

After appearing on the Christmas Eve 2012 edition with Bill Turnbull, Sally firmly established herself as one of the regular co-presenters of the Breakfast team. They worked together through to September 2021 reporting on Emma Raducanu’s historic victory in the US Open tennis championship. It was announced on October 27, 2021, that Sally would become a permanent presenter of BBC Breakfast alongside Dan Walker,  Naga Munchetty, and Charlie Stayt. She took over from Louise Minchin after Minchin’s departure following her 2 decades on the program.
