Robin Givhan is an American Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and fashion editor who worked as a fashion editor for The Washington Post. She became part of Post in 1995 but left in 2010 to pursue her career as a fashion critic before rejoining the post as senior critic-at-large. Before rejoining the post, Robin worked as a fashion correspondent for The Daily Beast and Newsweek.

However, Robin returned to the “Post” in 2014. In 2006, she won the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism and became the first winner at first time the award was given to a fashion writer. The Pulitzer Committee cited Robin’s “witty, closely observed essays that transform fashion criticism into cultural criticism.

She worked for the Detroit Free Press for almost seven years before joining San Francisco Chronicle and Vogue magazine. In January 2006, Robin also appeared as a guest on The Colbert Report. There years later (2009), the journalist moved from New York City to Washington, D.C. It was here that her fashion beat was expanded to cover First Lady Michelle Obama.
