Robert Spencer ( Full name: Robert Bruce Spencer ) is an American anti-Muslim blogger and author. He is one of the key figures of the counter-jihad movement. Robert published books include two New York Times bestsellers. He founded a blog in 2003 and has since then served as its director.
The blog tracks what Robert considers Islamic extremism, known as Jihad Watch. He and far-right conspiracy theorist and blogger Pamela Geller co-founded the anti-Muslim group Stop Islamization of America. A controversy was stirred by reports that two of Robert’s books were listed in FBI training materials
Anothere contaversy was sirred by claims that he had given seminars to different law enforcement units in the United States. Robert has frequently appeared on Fox News. The UK Home Office barred Robert in 2013 from traveling to the UK for three to five years for “making statements that may foster hatred that might lead to inter-community violence”.

The ban was to stand for between three and five years and it followed a concerted campaign by the UK anti-racism organization called Hope not Hate. It said that it had collected 26, 000 signatures for a petition to the Home Secretary. Robert and Pamela contested the ban. However, the British Court of Appeals dismissed the appeal in 2015 arguing that “this was a public order case where the police had advised that significant public disorder and serious violence might ensue from the proposed visit.”
Douglas Murray criticized the ban and has stated his belief that because Islamic supremacist hate preachers were and are still allowed to enter the UK, and because what Robert and Pamela say is much less objectionable than the views and statements of extremist Muslim clerics such as Muhammad al-Arefe, the ban is unjust. The government allowed Muhammad to enter the UK shortly before banning Robert and Pamela. The government of Pakistan banned Robert’s book titled The Truth About Muhammad, in 2016, citing the cause as “objectionable material” In 2007, Onward Muslim Soldiers was banned in Malaysia.

While there, student shouted down and heckled him . He spoke at Gettysburg College on May 3, 2017: 375 alumni urged the college president Janet Morgan Riggs to cancel the speech.

During his speech, Robert said, “There is one kind of diversity that is not valued generally in an academic setting and that is intellectual diversity.”He spoke at Stanford University on November 14, 2017 where many students walked out during the event. Robert has claimed that “a young Icelandic Leftist” poisoned him in 2017 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
