PJ O’Rourke ( Full name: Patrick Jake O’Rourke) was American journalist, author, and political satirist. He worked at the libertarian Cato Institute as the H. L. Mencken Research Fellow. PJ was a regular correspondent for  The American Spectator, The Atlantic Monthly, and The Weekly Standard.

Also, he served as a frequent panelist on National Public Radio’s game show called Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! PJ was also a columnist at The Daily Beast from 2011 to 2016. He became famours in the UK as the face of a long-running series of tv advertisements for British Airways in the 1990s.

Later, PJ became foreign-affairs desk chief at Rolling Stone until 2001. He served in the point-counterpoint segment of 60 Minutes as the conservative commentator in 1996. PJ received criticism during the Bosnian genocide after using the American public’s lack of interest in “unspellable killing the unpronounceable” in Bosnia as a way to joke about.
