She was born in Los Angeles, California, and was raised in Sandy, Utah. As she was growing up in her hometown, Mika was a multi-sport athlete and violinist. While still studying at the University of Hawaii, she was an intern at the KITV sports team where she covered basketball and football games.
Soon after her graduation, Mika worked as an Assistant Producer for TMZ Sports in Los Angeles where she discovered her passion for sharing stories with the community.
