He is best known for his starring role in several TV comedy series, such as Another Period, Stella, Viva Variety, The State, Michael & Michael Have Issues, and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. Also, Michael has appeared on Celebrity Poker Showdown several times.

Michael’s birth name was Schwartz derived from the German word Schwarz, which means black. However, he later changed this name to Black so as to avoid confusion with the actor Mike Schwartz.
