However, the duo divorced in 2018. Cate died in April 2021. Moreso, Melvyn got married for the first time in 1961 to his wife Marie-Elisabeth Roche, who was a French viscountess studying painting at Oxford.

In addition, he and Elisabeth shared a daughter born in 1965, Marie-Elsa Bragg. Unfortunately, Elisabeth passed on in 1971 after committing suicide.
