She will begin in her new role on November 27. Mary replaces Jennifer Gilbert, who announced her retirement from the station in November.

In September Mary came to WBFF  after getting fired in May by WJZ following a controversial question that she asked in the wake of the resignation of Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh. Her question referenced the race and gender of past mayors in connection with Baltimore leadership and was viewed as discriminatory by some people.

She started working at WJZ-TV in December 2003. Mary has since then served there until her firing on May 7, 2019. By the time of her firing, Mary was anchoring the 5 p.m and 11 p.m newscasts.

Previously, coming to WJZ-TV, Mary had served at WENY-TV as both a weekday news anchor and weekend reporter. In addition, Mary had also served at WBNG-TV and WORK-TV in New York. Later on,  she went to Pennsylvania, she served as an anchor and reporter at WHTM-TV.
