Mark Boyle (The Moneyless Man) is an Irish writer. He is best known for living without money since November 2008 and living without modern technology since 2016. Mark writes regularly for the British newspaper The Guardian and has authored a couple of books written about his experiences.
His first book, The Moneyless Man: A Year of Freeconomic Living, was published in 2010. Mark’s fourth book, The Way Home: Tales from a life without technology, was published in 2019. He lives near Loughrea, in the west of Ireland.

He lives about an hour from Galway City. Mark bought a plot of land in Galway with the proceeds from his book and has since built a cabin and a hostel on the site.
