Mancow Muller ( Full name: Matthew Erich “Mancow” Muller ) is an American actor,  radio, and television personality. He is a former child model. Considered a shock jock, Man cow’s career has been well known for controversy as well as clashes with the Federal Communications Commission.  He became known for his Chicago-based syndicated radio show called Mancow’s Morning Madhouse,  and The Mancow Radio Experience.

Those two shows have been nationally distributed by Talk Radio Network. Mancow co-starred in the reality TV series God, Guns & Automobiles with his brother Mark,  The series aired on History Channel. Most recently, he serves as the host of the morning show on WLUP-FM/97.9. However, he was let go by the network on March 6, 2018, after WLUP-FM/97.9  was sold.  Mancow returned to radio on WLS  in January 2019 to host mornings.

Mancow Muller  Family

He was born to his parents John and Dawn Muller in Kansas City, Missouri, United States of America. Mancow grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri area with his older brothers named Johnny and Mark. While growing up, he expressed an interest in radio and the entertainment industry as a whole.

As a child, Mancow would listen to old reel-to-reel tapes of classic radio shows such as The Shadow and The Stan Freberg Show with his father. Initially, he worked as a model and child actor. Mancow appeared in regional print and television commercials as well as Kansas City theater productions.

ads for Lee jeans and Wal-Mart were among his print modeling work. While a teenager, Mancow appeared in more than 100 stage performances. One notable long-running role is Billy Ray Jr. in the play titled On Golden Pond. Famous actor Henry Fonda was in the audience during one performance of the play, he would later go on to play the lead character of Norman in the film version.

His father John was a former traveling salesman who died of cancer at the age of sixty-two.  The death of his father affected Mancow and in part prompted him to write his first book, Dad, Dames, Demons and a Dwarf.

He attended multiple schools in the Kansas City area such as Blue Ridge Christian School. Mancow recounts an incident in fifth grade in his book titled Dad, Dames, Demons, and a Dwarf: My Trip Down Freedom Road. He was severely beaten with a board by the school principal in an act of corporal punishment. It was an event that changed his outlook on organized religion.

He transferred to the suburban Harrisonville school district, where he earned his high school diploma. After graduating from high school,  Mancow joined Central Missouri State University ( currently called the University of Central Missouri) in Warrensburg, not far from the Kansas City metropolitan area. While there,  he continued to work in theater. His role as a half-man, half-beast in one product gave rise to his nickname “Mancow”.

He earned double degrees from the university in 1990 graduating with a degree in Public Relations and Theatre. Mancow operated his own mobile DJ business to earn money while in school. He offered  Mancow a full-time job as head of station promotions.

Mancow accepted the position in addition to a weekend air shift while completing his final semester at Central Missouri State. He was hired at Kansas City’s KBEQ-FM, Q-104 after graduating in 1990 as the morning drive air talent. The Holy Moley & Maxx Show quickly rose to #1 in the ratings and helped Q-104 dominate the market. Mancow left Kansas City for a brief stint at KDON-FM in Salinas, California after his early hometown success. Later, he headed north to San Francisco and KYLD-FM, “Wild 107”.

Mancow traveled to Israel with MacDonald in November 2018 where he baptized him in the Jordan River. In  January 2019 ( Less than two months later and less than three weeks after starting his new radio show on WLS-Chicago), Mancow started calling MacDonald a con artist on his show as well as on social media sites. He asked MacDonald to resign or be removed as pastor. The journalist has since then consistently criticized and accused MacDonald of crimes since January 2019, including murder-for-hire in May 2019.

In 1993, Mancow made national headlines with a publicity stunt causing a major traffic problem for San Francisco. There was a debunked story that President Bill Clinton had tied up air traffic at Los Angeles International Airport for over an hour. Clinton was getting a haircut from a celebrity hairstylist called Cristophe aboard Air Force One. Reacting to this story, Mancow staged a parody of the incident on the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge during rush hour.

Mancow used vans to block the westbound lanes on the bridge while Jesus “Chuy” Gomez ( his then-sidekick) received a haircut Mancow was charged with creating a public nuisance as a result of the publicity stunt. After he entered a no-contest plea, his sentence included three years probation, a $500 fine, and 100 hours of community service. The radio station paid $1.5 million to settle the case, including $500,000 to cover three toll-free days on the bridge.
