Liza Featherstone is an American journalist and author. She is a journalism professor who currently writes frequently on labor and student activism for The Nation and Jacobin. Liza served as the Belle Zeller visiting chair in public policy at Brooklyn College from 2013 to 2015. Apart from writing for The Nation and Jacobin, she also teaches at NYU as well as Columbia’s School of International Public Affairs.
Her writing has appeared in different papers such as Rolling Stone, Nylon, Us, Nerve, Ms., Salon.com, In These Times, Newsday, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Columbia Journalism Review, Sydney Morning Herald, Dissent, Left Business Observer, San Francisco Bay Guardian, and Lingua Franca.
