Starting his career in the 1960s, Keith served for many radio and television stations in Canada’s western provinces, prior to joining Canada’s CTV Network in 1973 where Keith was a correspondent, producer, and news anchor. In his time at CTV, Keith won awards due to his coverage of national politics, a Middle-Eastern war, as well as the Boat People refugee saga in the aftermath of the Vietnam War.
During the early 1980s, Keith served as a co-host and political correspondent for the CBC Network’s The Journal. During his time at The Journal, Keith interviewed key newsmakers, both in Canada and worldwide, and contributed documentaries on Canadian political life.
He joined NBC in January 1986 serving as a co-anchor of the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. news on KNBC-TV, Los Angeles. Following two years, Keith came to NBC News working as a West Coast correspondent for both NBC Nightly News and Today, among other NBC News programs.
Keith came back to Canada to become the host of CTV’s morning program, Canada-AM in 1992. Moreover, Keith was the host of the syndicated program Down the Road Again with Keith Morrison, moderated many panel discussion programs for chosen stations of the PBS network, and contributed occasional pieces to NBC News programs. She rejoined NBC in 1995.
