John Sterling Calls | Home Run Calls

He has some idiosyncrasies that mark his calls as distinctive, very unusual, and also divisive.  Apart from his colorful vocal personality, John has distinguished himself from other announcers for sometimes characterizing plays differently than they may appear. Also, he is unique for his announcing errors, habits that spark high feelings in fans and also lead to comparisons with announcers such as Phil Rizzuto. His hilariously botched home run call was the highlight of Yankees vs. Red Sox. John was the building and still somehow duped
