Jim Gardner is a veteran American retired journalist. He delivered his last broadcast at 6abc Action News/WPVI-TV on December 21, 2022, at 6.00 p.m. when he officially retired. Jim joined the station’s news team on June 1, 1976, serving as a reporter and anchor of Action News at Noon. He had been guiding the station’s viewers through every event, whether large or small.
Jim presumed to work as the anchor of Action News at 6 pm and 11 pm weekday newscasts on May 11, 1977. Before his retirement, he let go of his position as the anchor of Action News at 11:00 p.m. on January 11, 2022, remaining with the 6:oo p.m. slot until December 21, 2022, when he went to retirement.
