Jim Gardner is an American journalist currently working for 6abc Action News/WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a reporter and anchor of Action News at Noon. He joined the station on June 1, 1976, and has been guiding the station’s viewers through every event, whether large or small.

Gardner presumed his current position as the anchor of Action News at 6 pm and 11 pm weekday newscasts on May 11, 1977. Prior to joining WPVI-TV, he worked at WKBW-TV in Buffalo. Gardner has worked with various firms throughout his career. He was born and raised in New York City, New York, USA but spent most of his adult life in Philadelphia. Gardner attended Columbia University where he graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. As a student, he reported on the 1968 “Historic Student Riots” at Columbia for WKCR-FM,  the university’s radio station.
