Jeffrey Zients (Full name: Jeffrey Dunston Zients) is an American government official and business executive. He was the director of the National Economic Council from February 2014 to January 2017. Zients also served as an acting director of the Office of Management and Budget in 2010 and 2013. Before entering government, he was an executive at firms including The Advisory Board Company and CEB.
In December 2020, Zients took a leave from his position as chief executive officer of Cranemere, which is an investment company. From 2018 to 2020 he was also a member of Facebook’s board of directors. The Biden transition announced that Zients will serve as both a Counselor to the President and a Coordinator of the COVID-19 response in the Biden administration in December 2020.
