Haley first auditioned for American Idol in San Antonio her hometown, where she sang “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt. Paula Abdul, one of the judges complimented her saying that she had really nice control of her voice and said that it was lovely. Other judges, Randy and Simon both agreed that she sounded great.
