Clarence Sexton is an American famous pastor and educator. He is the founder and president of The Crown College which teaches people how to serve Jesus Christ. Sexton is also best known as the pastor of Temple Baptist Church.
He served in many Baptist churches as a pastor before settling for Temple Baptist Church. Additionally, Sexton has been faithfully serving the Lord since 1967. The world has yet to see the fruit of all his labor.

He was born on Sunday morning at the Baptist Hospital in Selma, Alabama to his parents Preston Thomas Sexton and Ruby Lee Sexton. Sexton was born the oldest of four children, including Tommy, Katherine, and Sheila. His family, moved nineteen times and finally settled in Maryville, Tennessee when he was eight years old.
Sadly, Sexton’s parents divorced when he was twelve, and two years later his father died. His mother reared the four children, often working multiple jobs. Sexton was forced to be the man of the house, looking after his brother and sisters.

Sexton is married to his lovely wife Evelyn Rogers Sexton. Evelyn was born to Alvie and Lucille Rogers in Maryville, Tennessee, on December 19, 1949. When she was only five years old, her father, a Baptist preacher, was killed in an automobile accident. After the death of her father, Evelyn and her older brother Charles were raised by their godly mother, Lucille Rogers Caughron.
Sexton and Evelyn held their wedding on February 15, 1967. They share two grown sons, Shannon Sexton and Matt Sexton. Shannon is married to his beautiful wife Kristi while Matt is married to Rhonda. Sexton and Evelyn are grandparents of six beautiful grandchildren.

Sexton attended Maryville High School. Later, he enrolled at Everett High School where he played football. Subsequently, he enrolled at the University of Tennessee graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education.
He also finished an Associate of Arts degree from Hiawassee College and completed his Masters of Religious Education and a Doctorate of Ministry. Additionally, Sexton has also received his Doctorate of Divinity and a Doctorate of Humanities.

When Sexton was fourteen, he started attending the First Baptist Church in Maryville, Tennessee. After a youth choir practice, the director, Don Brakebill, asked him if he was a Christian. Realizing that Sexton was lost, Mr. Brakebill took him to meet the pastor. A short time later, Dr. J. William Harbin led him to trust Christ as his own personal Saviour.
While at Everett High School, the principal Robert Davis promised to help Sexton’s mother with his education. He was a godly Christian man who kept his promise and prayed for Sexton. Sexton met his wife Evelyn in high school after their wedding they attended Forest Hills Baptist Church, and God began a powerful work in Clarence’s heart.
Pastor Hagan gave Sexton the opportunity to preach on his radio broadcast. Later, Sexton preached his first message to a congregation at the Oak Street Baptist Church in Maryville, Tennessee. In 1969, he became the pastor of Greenback Memorial baptist church. On August 17, 1988, Sexton became the pastor of the Temple Baptist Church.
