Alison Krauss (Full name: Alison Maria Krauss) is an American musician and bluegrass-country singer. She entered the music industry at a very tender age. Alison won local contests by the age of 10 and recorded her own songs for the first time at 14 years of age. In 1985, she signed with Rounder Records and released her first solo album in 1987. From there, Alison was invited to join the band with which she performs up to date. In 1989, she released her first album with them as a group.
So far, Alison has released fourteen albums that appeared on many soundtracks. Also, she sparked a renewed interest in bluegrass music in the United States. Alison’s soundtrack performances have led to further popularity, such as the O Brother, soundtrack, Where Art Thou? as well as the Cold Mountain soundtrack.
