A R Bernard (full name Alfonso R. Bernard, Sr) is a renowned pastor of the Christian Cultural Center Megachurch in Brooklyn, New York. He left a 10-year career with a major New York banking institution in November 1979, and together with his wife, Karen went into full-time ministry. The Christian Cultural Centre started as a small storefront church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and has grown into a 37,000+ member church that sits on an 11-acre campus in Brooklyn, New York. Bernard is the founder and CEO of the Christian Cultural Center.
He has also served as the president of the Council of Churches of the City of New York. While serving in that role, he represented 1.5 million Protestants, Anglicans, and Orthodox Christians.
