In 2011, Reyes formed his first band called Baptism of Thieves, followed by Vampire as he looked for a more direct way to interact with an audience. After the break-up of those bands, Reyes and Tijuana-born Dave Parley created another band called Prayers which was credited under the pseudonym, Leafar Seyer. Also, Reyes performs solo as Nite Ritual. In 2013, Prayers released their debut album titled SD KILLWAVEwith two videos, “Ready to Bleed” and “From Dog to God.” The latter was directed by Chukk Nastee aka Charles Christ.
In mid-2014, Prayers released an EP entitled, GOTHIC SUMMER and also opened for the Cult during that band’s 2014 tour.
He conceived Prayers’ video for the “Gothic Summer” song which was the title track of their first EP, released in May 2014. The song won the 2015 San Diego Film Festival Award for Best Music Video. The video’s director Gavin Filipiak won for Best Editing in the music video category.

Since he started to focus on his artwork, showing in San Diego, Reyes has shown in Los Angeles with John Fleck and John Roecker at Coagula Curatorial as part of the successful “Two Johns and a Whore” group show. He developed a group of retired gang members with an interest in art and music which he called Diamond Dogs, as an outlet for young men looking for an alternative to gang life. However, Reyer later left the group. Currently, Diamond Dogs provides outreach, emotional and also artistic support in a positive environment.
Also, it helps in stressing the importance of community and family. Reyes was included in a special exhibition in January 2015 at the LA Art Show titled “Dark Progressivism: Metropolis Rising.” The show included important Southern Californian Chicano, Cholo as well as street artists. The show was the first international showing of this uniquely Southern California genre. His sculpture Southland debuted as part of “Dark Progressivism: The Built Environment” at Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH).
