Clarissa Ward is an American journalist. She currently works for CNN as their chief international correspondent based in London. For almost 20 years, Clarissa has been reporting from front lines across the world such as in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Georgia among many others. She cored news in 2008 during the Russian incursion. The Gracies named Clarissa as the 2019 reporter and Correspondent of the Year.  Apart from journalism, she is also an author and has published the book ‘On All Fronts”.

In 2020, Clarissa did an investigation of the poisoning of Alexey Navalny, a Russian opposition leader. During the investigation, she uncovered new evidence, it identified the Russian security services trailing the Navalny for more than 30 trips over three years. As part of the investigation with Bellingcat, Clarissa interviewed Navalny at a private location in Germany. She managed to show him photos of his that tracked him. Clarissa also carried out an investigation on Russian trolls who operated in the West African nations of Ghana as well as Nigeria.

The investigation aimed at calming racial tensions and stir up social unrest in the US. During the investigation, Clarissa traveled to one of the operation’s headquarters located in Ghana. While there, she carried out an interview with one of the trolls members. She also tracked down a Ghanaian who was running the operation while living in  Russia.
